The Articulated roof drain is designed specifically for the removal of rainwater and snow melt from from the roof of storage tanks with floating roofs. They are a great solution and a necessity when using a floating roof to protect the tank. Build up of rain water and residue on the roof can cause severe damage if not collected. Articulated roof drain is designed for minimum maintenance with swivel joints that our sealed for life. Manufacturer design the roof drain by looking at tank drawings and design them to avoid interaction with roof legs and other particulars within the tank, as a result of this it reduces the risk potential for damage.
Generally the articulated roof drain is supplied with a flange at either end. The drain is then fitted with multiple high quality swivel joints to allow the drain the move smoothly in the vertical and horizontal plane. All pipework is tends to be manufactured from either Stainless Steel or Aluminium Lastly the drain is supplied with a restraining cable to keep the drains shape and to avoid it moving significantly within the tank. Ultimately the restraining cable is used as a safety factor.
